Your information, explained
Your data & privacy controls.
A practical guide to the information used by Wall St Insider and the controls available in your workspace.
Your career workspace
Your account connects your profile, résumé, extracted text, job preferences, saved firms, application tracker, alerts, and introduction choices. These records support your job search and the actions you choose to take.
Career support team
Each successfully uploaded résumé version is kept privately for authorized Wall St Insider team members to review and help with your search, including when automatic extraction fails. Internal staff access is logged. Employer sharing still follows the application or introduction you approve. Sponsored suggestions name the sponsor and do not change your matching score. You can remove your stored data through account deletion.
Résumé processing
Your résumé file or its extracted text can be sent to the OpenAI API to prepare profile suggestions when AI processing is configured. The application requests that the response not be stored by that API. Review and correct the suggestions before using them. This setting does not describe every service provider’s retention policy.
Applications and introductions
Saving a firm or uploading a résumé does not submit an application. Direct applications share the information shown in the application flow with the participating employer when you submit. Advisor introductions require your approval. External application sites have their own information practices.
Account and browser storage
Clerk manages sign-in and account sessions. The site also uses browser storage for features such as hidden jobs and temporary résumé handoff. On shared devices, sign out when finished. A résumé selected before sign-in can remain temporarily in that browser while you complete the upload flow.
Operational records
The application records selected product actions and consent decisions to support its workflows. Technical hosting and authentication services may also maintain their own operational logs. Do not upload information that is unnecessary for your career search.
Your controls
Open Profile & privacy in your workspace to review your settings, download your site data, or delete your site data. Deleting site data removes the candidate records described in the confirmation screen; it does not delete your Clerk sign-in account or retract information already submitted to an external employer.
